Ultra Electronics Nuclear has developed a complete range of Neutron Flux instruments for monitoring and protection applications in the nuclear industry. The range includes instruments based on Pulse Counting, Campbell Processing, Log DC and Linear DC measurement. These instruments are available as individual items or as a complete system.
 
All of the instruments have been developed using a modular approach, which provides a high degree of flexibility for configuration changes to meet specific customer requirements.
 
Fail-safe circuit architectures are used where-ever possible to achieve high levels of safety and reliability. As many of these instruments are use in safety critical applications, they have undergone extensive safety evaluation and FMEA results are available on request.
 
All of the trip amplifiers are designed and qualified to operate in power plant environments. In particular they are immune to electrical interference.
Numerous units have been operating very effectively for many years on UK reactors, and advantage when seeking regulator approval prior to installation.

Reliability & Maintenance

All instruments are designed to achieve high levels of safety and reliability. In particular inherent, fail-safe circuit architectures are used. All instruments have undergone extensive safety evaluation and FMEA data can be provided on request.

All instruments are designed to facilitate maintenance and routine testing. To this end, modular configurations are used in many of the designs. A complete range of test equipment is available. In addition, a range of after sales support options are available customised to the customers requirements.

Immunity to radiated interference – 10V/m, 20MHz to 1Ghz
Immunity to conducted interference – 100mA rms, 10KHz to 100Mhz

All instruments are tested to the requirements of EES 1989 temperature and humidity class B, electrical environment class X (mild).

Integrated BF3 amplifier – designed for cubicle or plant mounting
Test Interface unit – 19” rack mounted
